Our People

Prabesh Subedi
President

Mr. Subedi is a digital media expert, journalist, filmmaker and researcher based in Nepal. Having master’s degree in journalism and mass-communications, issues of digital news media, social media, privacy, transparency and equity are his key interests. He was the president of Online Journalists Association Nepal (2014 -2017) and presently leads Digital Media Foundation. Over the last two decades, Subedi has practiced journalism in various institutions including Kantipur Publications, Himalaya Times and Media Chautari. He co-authored five editions of International Film Guide (2008-2012), Online Patrakarita Hate Kitab (2020) and published several academic and research articles. He has served the Government of Nepal for various assignments as an IT and Media expert. Mr. Subedi was one of the founder of Nepal Internet Government Forum in 2017. His contributions to the technology and media community ranges from local to the International level.

Kp Dhungana
Board Member

A journalist, author and an internet activist, Mr. Dhungana demonstrates quality contributions to News Media and the Internet Community. Presently, he leads newsroom at Pathseed Nepal and he was the founder president of Online Journalists Association, Nepal. He worked for leading news organizations including Kantipur Publication, Nepal Republic Media and Nayapatrika Daily. His book ‘Open Secret’, published in 2012 was one of the best seller in Nepal.

Dilliram Poudel
Treasurer

Mr. Poudel is an expert in ICT education in Nepal. His expertise mainly covers digital classroom, distance learning and ICT tools for teachers and students. He serves as high school teacher at a government school and further connects to technology and communication communities.

Pramod Pokhrel
Board Member

Mr. Pokhrel, an IT graduate, has been working actively in the field of Information Technology since 2012. He worked as technical consultant at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers (OPMCM). Working as technical expert in several projects under Ministry of Finance (MoF), Ministry of Federal Affairs and General Administration (MoFAGA), Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) for COVID-19 data management, COVID-19 Response Consultant at World Health Organization Nepal, IT expert at Soch Nepal, worked as a digital strategist and communication focal person for Buddha Air.  He is the Co-Founder at Code for Core Innovation, at IT Company based in Kathmandu.

Bidhya Rajput
Board Member

Ms. Rajput is a multimedia journalist having more than a decade long experience in online, radio and television media. During her career, she worked for prominent media organizations including Nepal Forum of Environmental Journalists, Freedom Forum, Setopati Online and Radio Nepal in various roles. She keeps deep interest on issues of politics, cultural and social development, gender and inclusion related issues.

Udeep Baral
Board Member

Having graduated in Computer Engineering, Mr. Baral has experience working with various IT and community organizations. He presently serves as deputy manager for Federation of Computer Association Nepal (CAN Federation).  He worked as a program manager for Internet Society Nepal Chapter since. He received the titled of Internet Society IGF Youth Ambassador 2019 and youth fellow of IGF 2019, Berlin. Additionally, he is a resource person at the Nepal School on Internet Governance on the topic of youth and Internet governance. He is the founder of Youth IGF Nepal.

Barsha Upadhaya
Board Member

Having several years of work experience in web and application development area in Nepal, Ms. Upadhaya is currently pursuing her Master’s at The University of Toledo, United states.
